In 2021, BRV won a nationwide competition to develop a management plan and provide operational insight for the future Downtown Market Plaza in Lee’s Summit’s thriving downtown area. To initiate the management plan development, BRV facilitated community engagement meetings with more than 300 downtown stakeholders. After conducting thorough research into Lee’s Summit and its surrounding areas, BRV approached programming with fresh perspectives and emphasized activities that would animate the space and distinguish Downtown Market Plaza from other cultural resources in Lee’s Summit and Kansas City.

In 2023, BRV was rehired to collaborate closely with design teams, including LANE4, GLMV, and Olsson Studio. BRV played a significant role in the schematic design of the public realm, ensuring that the proposed elements regarding management and infrastructure needs would be executed.
